![]() ![]() In team games with limited relics, it is advantageous to let friendly players with a powerful relic unit capture the relic. There is no advantage, outside of extra resources, for capturing additional relics beyond the first. Some maps have fewer relics than players, and thus control of a relic can be of significant importance. Research is also required, and production capability is typically only possible at or near the end of the respective race's tech tree. In Dawn of War, each race has a unique unit which can only be produced if a relic is controlled by the player.
